MEDICATION BILL 209
The Child Medication Bill (209) passed the legislature
unanimously and is
with Governor Jeb Bush for his signature. The proposed
law:
Protects parents from being coerced into putting their
children on
psychotropic drugs as a requisite for attending school.
Parental Rights and Informed consent: Requires parents
be told
that the child's behavior could be the result of underlying
physical
conditions and that the parent should consult a medical
doctor to rule out
physical causes. The bill is now on Governor Geb Bush's
table awaiting his signature.
