Vilsack: Jobs at risk if ethanol funds end
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday that it's too early to end $6 billion in annual federal subsidies for ethanol production because it would cost jobs. But officials at CHS, a farm cooperative that is Minnesota's largest ethanol marketer, acknowledged that a gradual reduction in subsidies may be in the cards.
